In chess, Opposite Side Castling occurs when one player castles kingside and the other player castles queenside (as shown in the diagram above). This often leads to very dynamic games, as both players can launch pawn storms against the opponent's King without compromising their own King's safety. Many factors may determine who is favored by this type of imbalance.

Ideas for when the Kings have Castled on Opposite Sides: (1) Launch a Pawn Storm against your opponent's King, (2) Be fast, trying to gain tempos by attacking enemy pieces with your pawn advances, (3) Quickly relocate your pieces to the side of the attack, (4) Consider sacrificial attacks to open lines, (5) Avoid unnecessary pawn moves near your King.
