Queen vs. Three Minor Pieces
A Material Imbalance is present on the board when the opposing pieces are roughly of the same value but of different types. In a Queen vs. Three Minor Pieces Imbalance, a Queen may battle a Knight and two Bishops, for instance, or a Bishop and two Knights may battle a Queen, as shown in the diagram above.
Ideas for when you have the Queen: (1) Fight for the initiative, (2) Create and exploit multiple weaknesses, for example, target an exposed King and one or more weakly defended pawns, (3) Prevent your opponent's pieces from coordinating. Ideas for when you have the Three Minor Pieces: (1) Fight for the initiative, (2) Activate your pieces, attack your targets in a coordinated way.
